What started as a community-built app quickly became a core part of Lunch Money, so much so that Wilson joined our engineering team and helped turn Lunch Money Pal into our official mobile app. A true community success story!

The creativity and dedication of our community continue to inspire us every day. These projects represent just a fraction of the incredible work being done by Lunch Money users around the world. As we move into 2026, we’re excited to support even more innovation!
Here’s what’s coming in 2026:
- A new v2 Developer API with interactive docs that should make it even easier for developers to get up to speed. The new API includes many highly requested features, and we are happy to announce that all users are welcome to start using our alpha release now:
- Webhooks to allow proactive notifications to apps that provide services like automatic categorization or alerting, enabling real-time integrations and more responsive tools.
- OAuth support so Lunch Money users can directly log in to 3rd party apps without needing to create an API Access Token, making it simpler and more secure to connect with community-built solutions.
- Lunch Money “Zaps” to allow users to automate workflows in Zapier, a no-code automation platform, opening up Lunch Money to users who prefer visual workflow builders.
