The new budgeting experience is coming!

After months of feedback, testing, and refinement, we’re excited to share that the new Lunch Money budgeting feature is officially launching in phases starting mid-June!

To the over 1300 of you who participated in beta testing:

Thank you!

Your insights and ideas helped shape what we believe will be one of the most flexible and intuitive budgeting tools out there.

Let’s talk features 📢

Here’s what’s new (and why it’s a big deal):

đź“… Custom Budgeting Periods

You’re no longer stuck with a monthly budget that starts on the 1st. Choose weekly, bi-weekly, monthly (starting on any day), twice a month, or even every 12 days. The flexibility is perfect for freelancers, folks on irregular pay cycles, or just anyone who wants more control.

🛼 Smart Rollover Options

Choose how to handle your leftover funds, whether you’ve underspent or overspent:

  • Do nothing (reset to zero)
  • Rollover to the same category (great for variable expenses)
  • Rollover to the general pool (ideal for flexible budgeting)

Each method puts you in control of how your money carries forward.

🗂️ Category Group Budgeting

By using category groups, you can choose to budget at the group level or for each category, and choose how it rolls over.

This is great for those who prefer to look at the big picture. For example, perhaps you want to spend $500 on “Food” each month, but don’t care how that splits between “Groceries” and “Dining Out.”

🖱️ One-Click Budgeting

Tired of setting your budget manually every month? Our one-click budgeting feature makes it easy to set up a budget in seconds—and yes, it’s customizable for each category!

You’ll be able to choose from the following one-click budgeting settings for each category:
